Elkhart, Ind. (May 24, 2023) The opening round of the Reveal The Hammer saw veteran Outlaw Late Model driver Mark Shook take his first ever Tour win with a hard-fought win over some of the best OLM drivers in the nation. The sold-out crowd at Birch Run Speedway witnessed one of the strongest starting fields in Reveal The Hammer history battle for 75 laps with some very familiar names throughout the field.
The qualifying session saw 24 drivers compete for the Allstar Performance Quick Time award and Mark Shook took the prize with a fast lap of 14.787 seconds.
The starting grid for the evening’s 75-lap feature saw the top-12 qualifiers inverted which led to very entertaining main event. This put Mark Shook in Row 6 while Andy Bozell and Scott Hantz were positioned on the front row. Early on Andy Bozell lead the field with Hantz running a close second. On a restart Hantz had a great jump and took over the top spot. As the race progressed Hantz, Shook, Phil Bozell, Andy Bozell, Brian Bergakker, and Adam Terry were all capable of taking home the $5,000 top prize. Late into the race Hantz fell off the pace as Mark Shook took command of the race to cross the line ahead of all competitors.
After competing in with Reveal The Hammer group the previous two seasons, this was the Schoolcraft, Michigan resident’s first win on the Tour. The Sweet Manufacturing Hard Charger Award went to Craig Stephens has he improved his starting position eleven spots after starting at the rear of the field.
